Our Pastor

Our Pastor

Pastor Chris Carter has been faithfully serving in ministry for more than 31 years and currently leads Priceville Baptist Church as a bi-vocational pastor. His journey in ministry began early—he sensed God’s call on his life at the age of 15 and began actively serving in ministry just two years later.

Chris studied Music Ministry and Pastoral Ministry at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary in New Orleans, Louisiana, and continued his education in Theology, Expository Preaching, and Pulpit Communication at Trinity Seminary in Newburgh, Indiana. He also studied music at Henderson State University in Arkadelphia, Arkansas. His background in both music and ministry deeply shapes his approach to preaching and worship, combining sound biblical teaching with heartfelt praise.

He has served as a volunteer missionary in Mexico and Ukraine and continues to share a passion for the gospel, discipleship, and missions wherever God leads. Alongside his pastoral role, Chris serves as the Logistics Safety and Compliance Manager for ProVia, a Christian, family-owned company based in Sugarcreek, Ohio. In both his vocational and pastoral work, he strives to lead with integrity, faith, and a servant’s heart.

Chris and his wife Denise have been married since July 2, 1994. They are the proud parents of two adult children, both married and living in the Jackson, Mississippi area, and they serve as foster parents to two foster children. One of Chris’s greatest joys is being “Pops” to his grandson. Family is at the center of his life, and he treasures every opportunity to spend time with them—especially over good food, laughter, and music.

Music has always been a big part of Chris’s life. He loves playing and listening to music of all kinds—especially jazz and bluegrass—and enjoys being part of the Priceville Baptist Church praise team, where he often plays bass guitar and occasionally piano or keyboard. When he’s not leading worship or studying Scripture, he’s probably reading about ancient civilizations or biblical archaeology—two of his favorite topics of study.

Above all, Pastor Chris loves Jesus, loves people, and loves the church family at Priceville Baptist. His heart is for helping others grow deeper in their walk with Christ and glorifying God together as a community of believers.
